Interaction of the mayor and the counctil

According to the local government regulations, the mayor and city council form the administrative organs of the city.

Together the mayor and city council determine the local political principles for developing the city.

The mayor chairs the city council and manages the city administration. He is responsible for the proper processing and completion of all administrative tasks, is in charge of the internal organisation of the municipal administration, and represents the city to the general public.

The city council represents the citizens of the municipality and is the main organ of the city. The city council sets the principles for the administration of the city and decides on all municipal issues that it has not entrusted to the delegated committees or to the mayor, or for which the mayor is responsible by law. The city council of Lauda-Königshofen has 30 members.
